Data Justa

Research

A cohesive and experienced team, with a track record in human rights accountability, reparation, legal defense, and social theory and methods, focuses on three research lines through multi-sited ethnography:

1

Data production and use

We identify and analyze knowledge infrastructures regarding victims, including records, databases, laws, regulations, protocols, professionals, operations and data systems.

2

Victims' management, assistance, and reparation

We examine state institutions' strategies and techniques related to victims, including standards, assistance practices and reparation. By analyzing victims' trajectories and their interactions with professionals, we assess assistance practices, psychosocial support, their outcomes, and the impact of this work on professionals.

3

Control, surveillance, and State compliance with commitments regarding victims

Based on state obligations established in laws, regulations, and institutional mandates, we review and propose ethical data usage and collaboration adjustments between institutions, aiming to enhance the State's capacity to efficiently ensure psychosocial support, legal representation, and reparation and rehabilitation actions.
