Jorge Maldonado Soto

Jorge Maldonado Soto is a Computer Science Engineer from Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, with a specialization in digital humanities and full-stack web development. He holds a Diploma in History and Archival Studies from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso and is currently a master’s thesis student in the Master’s Program in Science, Technology and Society at Universidad Alberto Hurtado. His thesis project “Tecnoética y memoria: consideraciones deontológicas del uso de la inteligencia artificial en la gestión de archivos relacionados con violaciones de derechos humanos” is supervised by Professor Oriana Bernasconi of Data Justa. 

His areas of interest include the impact and ethics of emerging technologies, as well as topics related to digital archives and memory, open science, citizen science, and research evaluation systems in Chile. He has been part of multidisciplinary teams that have allowed him to expand his technical expertise into the applied humanities, particularly at the intersection of technology and culture, from a critical perspective committed to society. In this context, he has participated in projects, initiatives, and academic events, aligning his professional development with a commitment to open access, social impact, public service, and community-based work.
