On Monday June 23,the first of six Territorial Workshops organized by the Millennium Nucleus for Data Justawill be held at the Austral University of Chile. The event, open to the public and in a hybrid formatwill bring together human rights specialists to discuss contemporary challenges in the use of international standards in the face of serious human rights violations.

With the aim of opening spaces interdisciplinary reflection and territorial connection, the Millennium Nucleus Data Justa will begin this cycle of workshops, which will take place between 2025 and 2027 in different regions of the country.
These meetings seek to promote exchange between researchers, state professionals, civil society organizations and young academics, addressing theoretical, methodological and ethical aspects of research in contexts of serious human rights violations.
Human rights and reparation: experiences from the territory and academia
This first edition will feature two main exhibitions:
- Olga RebolledoA social and developmental psychologist with over 20 years of international experience will present “Reparar desde la raíz: Apoyo psicosocial a víctimas de trata y violencia de género en contextos migratorios y de conflicto”. Rebolledo has led IOM programs in Nigeria, Colombia and other countries, addressing mental health, human trafficking, forced displacement and transitional justice.
- Daniela Accatino and Felipe Paredes, academics from the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences of the UAChwill present on “Estándares de trato por parte del Estado a víctimas de violaciones graves a los derechos humanos”. Both researchers have contributed from the legal field to the reflection on transitional justice, due process, historical memory and fundamental rights.
A space for training and territorial articulation
The Biennial Territorial Meetings are part of the commitment of the Millennium Nucleus Data Justa to critical and applied training in human rights, and seek to strengthen regional networks of collaboration between the university, the State and civil society.
Each workshop is designed to bring together young researchers, professionals from state agencies that provide services to victims and other actors interested in the defense and guarantee of rights, with a focus decentralized and participatory.
